MEET THE TEAM
Will has more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs, and geopolitical advisory. Over that time, he has worked at senior levels both in-house and in consultancy.
He began his career at the UK’s Confederation of British Industry. He then spent over a decade working in corporate affairs at Bupa, a UK-headquartered insurance multinational, moving to Hong Kong in 2014 to support the company’s growth and expansion in Asia. Prior to joining SEC Newgate, he held senior roles at strategic advisory firms Brunswick and Teneo for almost six years. He advised clients across the financial services, consumer goods, real estate, automotive, and not-for-profit sectors.

Candise has experience advising Hong Kong, Mainland Chinese, Japanese and multinational companies on a wide range of critical business issues, ranging from reputation management, crises, M&A transactions, litigations, proxy battles and public affairs. Prior to SEC Newgate, she was with CBRE as Communications Manager, where she led both the internal and external communications for the real estate services and investment firm in Hong Kong and the broader Greater Bay Area.
Previously she worked for Brunswick where she supported an array of businesses in private equity, asset management, banking and TMT on their communications needs. During her time, she handled a series of high-stakes corporate reputation issues for leading family businesses and inbound transactions. She speaks native Chinese and fluent English and Japanese.

Aaron is a former financial journalist and seasoned corporate communications professional with two decades of career experience across London, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Most recently, Aaron was General Manager - Media Relations at Link Asset Management. Previously, he served as Group Head of Corporate Communications at sports entertainment company ONE Championship and priort to that VP of Communications at FWD Insurance. He also held communications roles at investment bank Nomura and law firm Mayer Brown JSM. He started his career as a financial reporter at Bloomberg News.

Victoria brings more than a decade of experience in marketing communications in Greater China. She leads a portfolio of clients covering the B2B technology, and the financial & professional services sectors. Victoria has deep insights on driving multi-market communications strategy and is familiar with leading large-scale cross-border/cross-continent marcomm campaigns.
Prior to joining SEC Newgate, she founded Mars Communications in Shanghai, where she focuses on strategic planning and execution of public relations programmes for Fortune 500 companies, Chinese upstarts and state-owned enterprises. Before that, she held senior roles at LEWIS Global Communications and FleishmanHillard in Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Florence Shiu
Florence specialises in financial communications and corporate communications, with over 10 years’ experience in financial journalism and communications. She advises global financial institutions, legal firms and fintech companies at SEC Newgate.
Prior to SEC Newgate, Florence worked at Teneo where she supported global asset management firms, listed and leading APAC-based companies in corporate communications, transaction communications and crisis preparedness management. Florence provided strategic communication advice to clients across industries including financial services, TMT, logistics, consumer, among others.
Florence was a financial correspondent at Mergermarket, covering proprietary transaction intelligence, including M&As, listings, fundraising and fund formation. Prior to that, she was a reporter at Oriental Daily. She is a Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA®) from the European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies (EFFAS).

Sherry brings experience in corporate communications and branding, specialising in financial services. She has supported global asset managers, private banks, investment firms, and leading luxury houses, with expertise in media engagement, brand positioning, and market research.
Prior to joining SEC Newgate, Sherry worked at Hamilton Advisors and Citigate Dewe Rogerson, where she managed client programmes covering media roundtables, content development, and executive profiling, as well as cross-border communications strategies.
Sherry holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Rutgers University and a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Hong Kong.

Victoria has over three years of experience in advising companies in the investment management, real estate, shipping and logistics industries with investor relations, corporate communications and reputation management. Prior to joining SEC Newgate, Victoria worked at Anli Financial Communications Limited.
Victoria holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Rutgers University and a Master of Arts in Global Communication from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Rowen has over 4 years of PR agency experience in consumer-focused public relations. As a consultant at SEC Newgate, she focuses on serving clients across key sectors including technology, professional services, education, tourism, and hospitality. She specializes in delivering communications support to corporations and organizations, helping them build high-quality media relationships and achieve communications goals in the Chinese market.
Prior to joining SEC Newgate, Rowen honed specialized PR expertise at Ruder Finn Shanghai, where she worked as a Senior Account Executive. Her key responsibilities included managing and executing integrated brand campaigns, social media marketing initiatives, and strategic communications plans. Before that, she served as a PR Coordinator at Ketchum China, assisting with the end-to-end day-to-day communications for clients in the technology and luxury sectors.
Rowen earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Fudan University.

Ryan is a trilingual communications specialist with experience spanning finance, culture, and technology. As a SEC Newgate executive, he is dedicated to serving clients across real estate, private equity and other professional services through public relations and corporate affairs advisory, planning, and implementation.
Prior to joining SEC Newgate, Ryan built a robust track record at HSBC Asia and Middle East Communications, elevating brand visibility and credibility through strategic media relations, high-impact campaigns, and thought leadership initiatives. Earlier in his career, Ryan served as communications and public affairs officer at the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, where he supported media outreach and projects for major exhibitions.
Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communication from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Alex is responsible for the day-to-day finance management and administration of the firm. He has more than 15 years’ experience in auditing, accounting and finance management.
Prior to joining SEC Newgate, Alex spent 10 years at various corporate services and audit firms, providing comprehensive financial administration services to multinational clients.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from The City University of Hong Kong. He is a CPA with the Hong Kong Institution of Certified Public Accountants.
